Before you read this blog, I want to preface that I’m not talking about the obvious things Fit Pros need. You know, like a PT certification, CPR/AED cert, insurance, etc. There are some things you just have to have in order to have a career as a Fit Pro, but there are a few things they don’t tell you when you get started.

This leads you to start off on the wrong foot, which leads to having a tough time getting your business off the ground  If you’ve been at this for a while and you wonder why it’s so hard, I promise – it really doesn’t have to be. 

I’ve narrowed down the top 3 things Fit Pros need if they are going to build their dream business:

  1. A fitness software to create and deliver programs through. Back when I started, we only had brown folders and paper copy workout plans. This not only made it confusing to keep track of clientele, but it was also a time vortex for servicing clients on a high level. There’s dozens of fitness software that can create programs within minutes – all with the click of a button.   2. A lead generating website with the sole purpose of collecting contact info from people who are interested in your services. Most websites are just fancy business cards, and most business cards end up in the trash can. But a lead generation website is concerned with building value and offering that value for exchange for contact info. If you had a thousand names and numbers from people who were interested in getting in shape, do you think you could convert a few of them into clients?
  3. A sales funnel for your leads. It’s one thing to get a list of people who are interested in your help, it’s another thing to have the time to spend with each lead so you can educate them on the value of your service and how it can change their life. Having a simple email campaign that goes out to your leads and builds “know, like, trust” while you run your business is a complete game-changer. This tool is the difference between Fit Pros who operate on a high level and those who don’t understand that their time is their most valuable resource. Why spend time doing busy work when you can automate it?

Whether you’re just starting out or have been in the game for a while, the most important resource you have is your time. You only have so much time in a day and if you’re going to change more lives you’ll need to maximize every hour of every day.
